دفتر اصلی مایکروسافت شبیه به دفترهای چندطبقه شرکت‌های چندملیتی نیست، بلکه بیشتر به شهر کوچکی که شبکه‌ی حمل‌و‌نقل، مرکز خرید و خانه‌های درختی و یک دریاچه لجنی دارد! دفتر اصلی مایکروسافت، زمینی به مساحت ۵۰۰ هکتار را در ردموند، حومه شهر سیاتل در ایالت واشنگتن به خودش اختصاص داده که با نام پردیس یا Campus شناخته می‌شود و شبیه به خیلی از پردیس‌ها دانشگاهی، شامل تعداد زیادی ساختمان، زمین ورزش، مسیرهای جنگلی و حیاط‌ خلوت‌هایی برای گپ زدن با بقیه و استراحت کردن می‌شود.

مایکروسافت زمستان سال ۱۹۸۶ کمی قبل از اینکه معروف و به یکی از بهترین شرکت‌های دنیا تبدیل شود، به این محل منتقل شد، جایی که قبلاً یک مزرعه و مرغ‌داری بود. دفتر اصلی مایکروسافت، در ابتدا فقط شامل ۶ ساختمان با ظرفیت ۸۰۰ کارمند بود؛ اما حالا نزدیک به ۵۰ هزار نفر در پردیس ردموند مشغول به‌کار هستند. ۶ ساختمان اولی، به جای اسم، شماره‌گذاری شده بودند تا ظاهر نرم‌افزاری به خودشون بگیرند و البته این رویه تا همین امروز هم ادامه پیدا کرده است.

    website, but what if you added a title to maybe get a person’s attention?
    I mean ساختمان مرکزی مایکروسافت – هولدینگ کاروی is kinda plain. You should glance at Yahoo’s front page and note how they create post titles to grab viewers interested.
    You might try adding a video or a picture or two
    to grab readers interested about what you’ve written. Just my opinion, it could make your blog a
    little bit more interesting.
